Nations forge trade links through marriage of expertise, demand

China Daily | Updated: 2017-01-27 08:02

Dutch and Chinese preconceptions about doing business and conducting trade with each other can be clarified by providing information and expertise specifically aimed at illuminating these bilateral relations.

Rotterdam-based Dutch Sino Business Promotions, specializing in horticulture and environmental protection, is used to working with both Chinese and Dutch companies that want to know more about the facts and opportunities on either side.

Su Nan, DSBP's managing partner, explained: "A Sino-Dutch win-win situation can be found in the environmental technology and horticulture sectors, two hot topics in China at the moment. There is great expertise in the Netherlands, and great demand in China.

"Our company understands why and where there's such demand in China," she added. "We also know which companies in the Netherlands provide the needed technology and product, and what the right price is."

DSBP's current projects linking the Chinese market and investment with Dutch knowhow include one on soil and groundwater contamination, a modern two-hectare horticulture facility and one implementing steam injection soil remediation.

Su believed that, in this way, both the import of products and technology transfer can help achieve Chinese and Dutch business ambitions.
