Cross-cultural tango show

Tango Libertad band, which features bandoneon player Liu Shanshan, Spanish violinist Daniel Hurtado and three Chinese musicians - guitarist Zhang Wei, pianist Hui Dui and double-bass player Hu Jun - will start their summer tour, including Chengdu, Beijing and Shanghai, dedicated to their mutual idol, Piazzolla.

150-year French chronicle of China

Paris-Beijing: French Focus on China, 1844-2014 displays more than 200 photos, mostly in black-and-white, taken by French soldiers, diplomats, missionaries, artists and travelers over the past one and a half centuries. Through their lenses, viewers get to see the connections between two countries and cultures, and these personal stories, some well-known and others obscure, that will resonate with people of today.

Chang brings pop repertoire

Taiwan pop singer Jeff Chang, who is known for his Mandarin love ballads, brings his 2014 national tour to the capital. With more than 30 albums under his belt, Chang, 47, will perform his classical pop songs as well as his new singles.

Magical treat

Ju Percussion Group, the first percussion ensemble established in Taiwan in 1986 by renowned percussionist Ju Tzongching, will launch a monthlong tour on the Chinese mainland with concerts for children called Do-Re-Mi Pods' Rainbow Dream. The music and story are designed to take audiences to amagical world.

Draw a fish

Shanghai World Financial Center invites children to draw their own ocean fi sh, to create a huge sky aquarium on the 94th fl oor of the skyscraper. The fi sh will join others in the digital aquarium, where they will play and feed. Japanese visual artist Inoko Toshiyuki, together with his TeamLab, has built the digital aquarium for children in China.
