Works by Chinese artists Liu Jianhua and Peng Wei are in the running for the Signature Art Prize worth S$600,000 Singapore dollars ($480,600).

Liu’s Trace and Peng’s Letters from A Distance are among the 15 battling for the prize.

The triennial prize, launched in 2008 by the Asia Pacific Breweries Foundation and the Singapore Art Museum, spotlights the most compelling contemporary artworks in the Asia-Pacific region.

It reviewed 105 artworks from 24 countries and regions this year. The winners will be announced on Jan 22.
