Confucius philosophy quoted by foreign dignitaries

During US President Barack Obama’s town hall meeting in Shanghai in 2009, he cited the saying coined by Confucius "Consider the past and you shall know the future"(温故而知新), to express that the two countries should learn from the past to develop Sino-US diplomatic relations in the new era.
