Urgent repairs are needed to an ancient Baofeng Pagoda, located about 25 kilometers northwest of Anyang county, Central China's Henan province.

The pagoda, also known as Zhongle Pagoda, was constructed in the Song Dynasty (960 -1279) and renovated in the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644).

In 1971, it was listed as a cultural relic site under state protection, but now the structure has become dilapidated following many years without repair.

It not only is gradually losing its archaeological value, but also poses severe threats to residents living nearby.

In China, relics are rated differently depending on their historical and cultural value. Those sites and relics that are not on the protection list get little attention and less protection funding.
