Winter fishing festival kicks off in NE China

The third Daliao Culture & Winter Fishing Festival officially opened at Wolong Lake of Kangping county in Shenyang city, capital of Northeast China's Liaoning province, on Jan 18, 2015.

During the seven-day festival, a series of activities like ancestor-worshipping ceremony of Liao Dynasty (916-1125), sacrifice ceremony to the lake, and taste the fish head soup will be held.

Wolong Lake, the largest freshwater lake in the province, is located on the northern side of Shenyang and occupies an area of 127.5 square kilometers.

Having been held consecutively for two years, the festival has become a unique winter tourism fair in northern part of Liaoning.
