1988: I Want to Talk With the World is a play adapted from the novel of the same title by Han Han. The story is about a young man driving an obsolete van produced in 1988, on a road trip to pick up a friend from prison. The play premiered at Festival d'Avignon in France in 2012. The upcoming shows will feature the same cast.

Percussion plus

Chinese conductor Zhang Yi will work with the percussion department of Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and soloist Hu Shengnan, as well as soprano Lu Qi and baritone Liu Songhu, to present a concert. The program: Symphony No 2 Horizon by Ye Xiaogang, Der Gerettete Alberich by Christopher Rouse and Carmen Suite by Rodion Shchedrin.

Ancient tomb adventure

The best-selling novel Journal of a Grave Robber is the Chinese equivalent of The Adventures of Indiana Jones. The theater adaptation consists of two plays which will be staged in a row. The story is about a young man, who comes across a slip of silk, which turns out to be part of the map to an ancient tomb. His treasure hunting journey is filled with dangerous encounters with ghosts.
