Chen Xu, China's Ambassador to the Netherlands, pointed out that there was great potential for the two countries to cooperate in cultural innovation.

" ‘Voice of China' is the Chinese version of ‘Voice of Holland’.Dutch designs such as ‘Rubber Duck’ and ‘Miffy’ are popular in China. Meanwhile, the Chinese tradition of Spring Festival is celebrated in the Netherlands. I believe that the two countries will see more exchanges in culture and economy, and there will be more stories of successful cooperation between the two countries."

Although geographically a small country, the Netherlands has quickly blossomed into an influential cultural power. Culturally innovative industries are one of the top nine promising sectors of the country. And the country has ambitious plans to make itself the most creative economy in the world by 2020.

Cultural innovation industries have also been flourishing in China in recent years. Around 1 million people have been engaged in activities related to those industries in Beijing alone. Chinese government encouraged both official and private cooperation in the field of cultural innovation.

Founded by China Culture Media Group, a state-owned enterprise under the Ministry of Culture, China-Foreign Countries Culture and Media Forum has successfully held 4 sessions as of today, and had far-reaching impact on cultural cooperation and innovation industries.
