The Green Train, which often refers to an old-style train with green carriages, was the most common way of transportation for ordinary Chinese people before the era of high-speed rails.
A reference to the green train immediately reminds someone of the low-income earners, such as, migrant works. As a way of transportation for grassroots, it offers a much cheaper ticket for people to travel across China than the high-speed rail.
Qian Haifeng, a backpacker and photography enthusiast, uses his lens to record the travelers who depend on the green trains for their transportation.
