Established in 1925, the Palace Museum was constructed in the spirit of the imperial palaces in Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). The museum boasts the largest and most well-preserved wooden palace complex in the world.
Covering an area of 780,000 square meters, it houses more than 1.8 million precious collections, including Along the River During the Qingming Festival, which is widely regarded as one of the finest examples of ancient Chinese paintings.
