On May 24, the Embassy of China in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan held a reception in Islamabad, Capital of Pakistan to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan. Along with the reception there was a photo exhibition, Celebrating the 65th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and Pakistan.
More than 700 people from all walks of life in China and Pakistan were present at the reception, including Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain, Minister of Pakistani Planning and Development Ministry Ahsan Iqbal, and Ambassador of China in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Sun Weidong.
In his speech, Sun extended a warm hand to Hussain and expressed gratitude to those devoted to the friendship between China and Pakistan.
“Over the past 65 years, China and Pakistan have made joint efforts in safeguarding national independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, developing economy and society, promoting people’s welfare, defending international fairness and justice, and maintaining world peace,” Sun said.
“Beyond bilateral relations, the two countries have produced a wide international influence, which set a good example for countries with different social systems and cultural backgrounds,” Sun said.
