Folk artist uses 4,400 cm of gold wire for enamel art

Folk artist Li Haiming creates an enamel drawing of a classical Buddhist work at the Mogao Grottoes, known as "thousand-armed and thousand-eyed Avalokiteshvara", in Northwest China's Gansu province, July 26, 2016. It took Li one year to complete the work with 4,400 centimeters of gold wire and more than 200 types of coloring materials. For nearly 20 years, Li has experimented with combining enamel skills with drawing, a process that usually takes 10 time-consuming procedures. Li's drawing will contain 917 arms.
