Dance drama Tales of the Silk Road was performed in Frankfurt in Germany, on Feb 18, attracting about 2,000 audience numbers.
The performance features a love story between Mogao and Yueya, whose name were inspired by two historical sites in Dunhuang. The stage and costume design brought back the scenes of common people's daily lives in Dunhuang a thousand years ago.
The performance showed the history of Chinese ancient frescos, Buddhist culture and folk culture in Northwest China, which presented the prosperity and cultural exchange on the Silk Road.
At the beginning of 2017, about 100 artists and performers from Lanzhou started their tour in Germany. During their 40-day stay, they have given 10 performances in eight cities across the country.
