King Arthur film likely in China this year

Upcoming fantasy King Arthur: Legend of the Sword is likely to hit Chinese theaters later in the year.

The Australia-American movie, directed by Guy Ritchie, stars Charlie Hunnam in the role of Arthur. Its other main members of the cast are Astrid Berges-Frisbey, Jude Law and Djimon Hounsou.

The movie's trailer is fetching tens of thousands of views on major streaming sites in China.

The screenplay by Joby Harold, is built around Thomas Mallory's 15th-century tale The Death of Arthur, considered among the best literary works retelling the legendary king's adventure.

The movie is slated to be released in North America on May 12.
