The Philharmonic String Sextet Vienna concert
The ensemble "Philharmonic String Sextet Vienna" was founded in 2015 by six young members of the Vienna Philharmonic. Since then the musicians have devoted themselves to the classic sextet literature around the two large sextets by Brahms, the sextet of Dvoák and the famous Souvenir de Florence by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, as well as other modern works by composers such as Schoenberg, Korngold and Milhaud.
The program for the Beijing concert will include String Sextet (Prelude), from Capriccio, Op. 85 by Richard Strauss, Grande Sestetto Concertante by Mozart, as well as The String Sextet in D minor Souvenir de Florence, Op. 70, by Tchaikovsky.
