'Logan' continues to lead Chinese box office

, an action movie produced by 20th Century Fox, ruled the Chinese box office for the consecutive second week, earning 261 million yuan ($37.7 million) from March 6 to March 12, China Film News reported Wednesday.

The comedy "A Dog's Purpose" landed in second place for the week, taking 251 million yuan.

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, a Sony Pictures thriller, placed third, with sales revenue of 97 million yuan. It has grossed 1.06 billion yuan since its release on Feb 24.

Japanese CG animation Kingsglaive Final Fantasy XV took fourth place, generating 21 million yuan.

Rounding out the top five was Universal's animation Sing, which grossed 13 million yuan.
