The Tianheng Sea Ritual has been observed by fishermen in Tianheng Town of Jimo for over five centuries.

The ritual takes place annually before Guyu, the sixth of the 24 solar terms, when fishermen prepare for the new fishing season.

During the event, the locals present offerings to the sea and pray for abundant supply.
