Versatile artist's solo show
Chen Jialing is hailed as a versatile artist who has formed a distinctive style while seeking a connection between Chinese and Western art, and demonstrated an excellence for industrial design.
The 80-year-old artist now holds an ongoing solo exhibition in Beijing. He shows dozens of ink paintings which exhibit influences from impressionism and expressionism. Also on display are his designs on decorative works for daily use, such as ceramic bowls, furniture pieces and silk scarves.
