Delicate frescos found in deserted temple in E China
Delicate frescos have been discovered recently in a deserted ancient temple within a pig farm in Zhangyilang village in the Zhangqiu district of Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province. [Photo/VCG] According to the tablet inscriptions, Dasheng Temple was built under Emperor Zhezong's reign during the Song Dynasty (960-1279), and now has a history of 931 years. The temple has been long neglected and in disrepair; only frescos featuring themes of folk tales and fairy stories can still be seen. |
