Art's evolution put on display

( China Daily ) Updated: 2012-06-21 10:44:41

Art collectors can celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival with an encounter with French landscape masters. The exhibition Corot to Monet brought by Sotheby's Hong Kong offers 20 artworks by leading Realistic painters and masters of the Impressionist generation. It outlines the evolution from the Barbizon school to Impressionism through their definitive subject - landscapes.

The display from June 22-25 at Park Haytt Beijing is a continuation of Sotheby's strategy of cultivating Chinese art buyers' interests in Western masterpieces from the late 19th century to the early 20th century.

Corot to Monet is also one of the two opening exhibitions of Sotheby's newly constructed gallery space in Hong Kong.
