Magic on stage
Veteran magician and entertainer Arnie Kolodner brings 20 years of experience in New York for a theater show, The Magic School of Wizards. Kolodner will present a magic performance based on episodes of the Harry Potter stories. Children will be invited to play games on stage. A Chinese stage master will help with the explanation and translation.

Snow White on her toes
The Ukrainian Children's Ballet Company will present Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. The company, founded in 1957, recruits students from 3 to 18, who get systematic training in classical ballet and stage performances. The school also hosts annual ballet competitions. Winners often grow up to become principal dancers in ballet theaters in Russia, Ukraine and elsewhere. The company will be making its fourth visit to China.

Faces of China's museums
Power Station of Art is presenting an exhibition about architecture called Spectacle: 12 Presentations of Contemporary Museum Architecture in China. China now has 3,589 museums. From 2010 to 2011 one museum opened to the public every day in China. Curators Zhang Ming, Bo Bing and Zhang Jiajing said they are obliged to initiate in-depth discussion about the subject. The show presents not only models, photos and blueprints, but also architects and artists' interpretations for the museum designs they created.

Capturing fleeting time
Contemporary artist Tang Guo is holding a solo exhibition titled The Rhyme of Ruins. Tang's art brings traditional Chinese ink painting into a contemporary context. He says he has spent years capturing ghosts and fixing them on paper. "Deeply immersed in the ruins of a bleak village and deserted temple, I am here to discover fleeting moments from the history of time."
