He saw trees as his spiritual incarnation and a weak light of hope in darkness. He started to paint them, which he viewed as a ritual to release his stress.
The trees under his brushes are ordinary scenes or passersby that people don't bother to give a second look, bringing out the fear and strange feelings hidden inside people's heart, he said.
The exhibition is being held at the China Cultural Center in Seoul until Sept 5.
