'Life Is a Poem' festival opens in Beijing

Life Is a Poem

, an annual cultural festival in Beijing that features concerts, art exhibitions, workshops and flee markets, kicked off at Tianqiao Performing Arts Center on Saturday.

The opening ceremony was attended by Taiwan folk singer Hu De-fu, better known as Ara Kimbo, Beijing-based folk singer Zhou Yunpeng, and poet Qin Xiaoyu, among other artists. They shared their thoughts on the relationship between poetry and life. The musicians also performed folk songs.

An exhibition featuring traditional Chinese ink paintings by established artists Fu Haishui and Gao Xiuzhen, will also be held at the venue through June 28.
