Fifth Session of 10th CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee Closes

On the afternoon of Jan 13, 2012, the Fifth Session of the Tenth CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee lowered the curtain at Hunan People’s Hall in Changsha. Hu Biao, chairman of the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee, presided at the meeting.

The session approved the Government Work Report delivered by Governor Xu Shousheng, the Work Report of the Higher People's Court of Hunan Province and of the People's Procuratorate of Hunan Province among others. It is agreed that year 2011 made a good start for the 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-2015).

In the coming five years, efforts should be exerted to propel the establishment of a prosperous society in a holistic way and the building of a "Two-Oriented" Society. The province should take the lead in achieving success in central China, exploit a new road to the "Two-Oriented" Society construction, and promote Hunan's new-type industrialization, urbanization, agricultural modernization, and informatization. To achieve the goal, attention should be paid to expanding domestic demand, readjusting economic structure, improving independent innovation, carrying out energy conservation and emission reduction, and deepening reform. In addition, more effort should be spared to guaranteeing and improving the well-being of people, intensifying regulation and the assurance of economic operation. A steady and rapid economic development should be maintained and a stable price level for a harmonious and well-ordered society.
