Hunan and Taiwan enhance cooperation in higher education

Li Weiwei, head of the united front work department of the CPC Hunan provincial committee, met with a visiting delegation from Taiwan headed by Li Quan, the president of Ming Chuan University on the evening of Jan 6, 2012 in Changsha, Hunan.

During their stay in Hunan, the delegation signed a cooperation agreement with Hunan University and explored ways to promote cross-straits cooperation and cultural exchange with the Hunan Federation of Taiwan Compatriots.

Li Weiwei extended a welcome to the delegation and briefed the guests on Hunan's economic and social development, particularly higher education in recent years.

She hailed all the successful exchanges between Hunan and Taiwan and the increasingly enhanced cooperation in economy and trade. She said education is highly valued in Hunan province. She hoped that Ming Chuan University will strengthen all-round cooperation and communication with Hunan's higher education institutions.

Li Quan thanked Li Weiwei and expressed that Ming Chuan University is willing to bridge cross-straits cooperation and wishes to achieve mutually beneficial results through more joint efforts.
