Wuyi Square viaduct traffic opens on Feb 5, after two months' intense construction. It will provide five lanes for both ways. Under the viaduct, the roads of both sides will be closed for subway construction which is expected to be completed at the end of the year.

Wuyi Square station is a transfer station of subway line 2 and line 1. Currently, the main project of line 2 station (east-west direction) has been finished, while the line 1 station (north-south direction) is still under construction. The original Wuyi Square overpass was pulled down on October, 2010.

With the viaduct, east-west traffic and north-south traffic will be more convenient, without any mutual interference. After the traffic viaduct opens, 3 vehicle lanes from west to east and 2 lanes from east to west will be provided. At the same time, besides each vehicle side, there is a pedestrian and non-motorized mixed lane.

With the opening of the viaduct, the original flow of traffic and pedestrian will be all transferred onto the bridge, and the road under the bridge will also be removed to provide a venue for subway construction. After the construction of line 1 station, the traffic at Wuyi Square area will be better.
