China, Singapore to establish a university in Chongqing

The Chongqing educational authority plans to build an international university jointly with Singapore focusing on finance, logistics, aviation and telecommunications.

The Chongqing Education Commission will apply to the Chinese Education Ministry to establish an international university that can utilize the educational resources of Chongqing University of Post and Telecommunication (CUPT) and Nanyang University of Technology (NUT).

The new university is expected to cultivate leaders in finance, logistics, and telecommunications to serve the increasingly deeper and closer partnership between China and Singapore.

Apart from an international university, Chongqing also plans to establish a CUPT-NUT ICT Institute to promote the information communication technology industry.
