NPU International Students succeed in National Robot Competition
An international team from Northwestern Polytechnical University obtained two second prizes in the 2018 International Engineering & Robotics Competition recently held at China University of Geosciences, Wuhan, Hubei province.
This year's competition, with 1,858 teams from 355 colleges and institutes participating, was divided into a robot competition, engineering innovation design, artificial intelligent robots and an engineering cross-country project.
It was the first time NPU students have taken part in this contest. They were the only international team in the competition and competed with 200 other teams in the off-road project all-terrain race event.
Two team members were from China; the others were from Pakistan, Kazakhstan and Malawi.
The International College and the Engineering Practice Training Center of NPU has set up an innovation base for international students that cultivates international students' innovation ability and encourage them to participate in innovative activities.
The China Engineering Robot Competition is a national competition sponsored by the College Innovation Method Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education and the International League of Engineering Robots.
It has formed robotics competitions in the field of Transport Engineering, Competitive Engineering, Racing Engineering, and Biomedical Engineering which focus on engineering applications and outstanding innovation practice. The competition has a significant influence in its field in China.
