There is an explosion of the demand for foreign talents educated in China and capable of speaking fluent Chinese, said Liu, and some of the enterprises presenting at the booths want over 100 such talents.

The culture integration, application of laws and the establishment of capable foreign teams in their overseas offices are three major problems which will be more efficient to fix when employing foreign talents who understand both the Chinese and local situation and also have the capability of thinking globally, according to the enterprises’ representatives.

Absorbing such talents is effective, said Shi Qian, human resource manager of PowerChina International Group Limited, a company which sets offices in 116 countries and regions worldwide, especially in the countries alongside the Belt and Road.

In turn, their Belt and Road Initiative business partners will feel more at ease to trade with China with the support of such Chinese-speaking talents who desire to see their own country further open and develop, said Shi.

UIBE is committed to cultivating more global talents, leave them beautiful memories of learning in China and hope that they contribute to the trade, economic and cultural connections between China and their motherlands, said Han Weichun, dean of UIBE's School of International Education.

The international career fair was organized by the School of International Education and the Career Center, UIBE and sponsored by UIBE International Alumi Association as well as other associations of the university.

According to Liu, more than 100 enterprises planed to participate in the career fair before it opened. The next such fair is expected to open in May to give opportunities to firms that missed out this opportunity due to conflicting schedules.

Before the career fair, five workshops were held during the week to share experiences of getting work visas, job interview, China's employment environment, relevant laws and regulations and so on. The workshops will also be held before the next career fair, according to Christopher Oniya, founder and secretary-general of the UIBE International Alumi Association.
