China yesterday condemned Israel's "excessive use of force" which caused numerous casualties and damage to property in Palestine.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhu Bangzao said China is greatly concerned about the serious escalation of armed conflict between Israel and Palestine and the further aggravation of tension in the Middle East. The escalation of the conflict has seriously threatened peace and stability in the region, said Zhu.
