Lab for new drugs

Shanghai has set up a national foreign-invested combinatorial chemistry lab to promote research into new drugs in China. The joint venture, entitled GSK-SIMM Combi-Chem Lab, is co-operated by Shanghai Institute of Meteria Medica and GlaxoWellcome and SmithKline Beecham (GSK). GSK has already invested nearly US$10 million into drug research and development in China.
