Shanghai Video & Audio Electronics Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Shanghai General Electronics (Group) Co Ltd, has formed a strategic alliance with the US-based International Business Machines Corp (IBM) to co-operate in the field of pervasive computing, a technology initiated by IBM for the research, design and manufacturing of information technology products. Under the deal, the two companies will set up a computing research laboratory in Shanghai.
