Philips Semiconductors, a division of Royal Philips Electronics, has broke ground for its new integrated circuit (IC) assembly and test plant in the Suzhou Industrial Park in neighbouring Jiangsu Province. The project signals the largest China-based investment so far of Philips Semiconductors. More than 500 engineering and 3,500 other positions will be filled locally in the new facility.
