Olympic hurdler suspended two years after testing positive
( 2001-06-14 10:52 ) (7 )

Tony Dees, the 1992 US Olympic 110-metre hurdles silver medallist, has been suspended for two years after testing positive for the banned anabolic steroid nandrolone, the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) announced in New York Tuesday.

Dees, 37, tested positive for nandrolone metabolites after his second place finish in the 60-metre hurdles at the US indoor championships in Atlanta on March 3, and will be stripped of that finish, the agency said.

The US Anti-Doping Agency is the independent body for Olympic sports in the US. It was created in 1999 by the US Olympic Committee.
