China Southern Airlines resumes flights to UAE
( 2002-01-06 16:45 ) (8 )

China Southern Airlines, one of the country's leading carriers, Sunday resumed its regular passenger flights between China and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

CZ329 and CZ330, the only direct flights linking the Chinese mainland with the UAE, were suspended out of security considerations after the September 11 terrorist attacks in the United States.

China Southern Airlines have resumed the flight operations because of "fully guaranteed aviation safety" and "growing market demand," said a company spokesman at its headquarters in Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province.

Starting from Sunday, the company will continue to fly three times a week from Beijing to Sharjah, stopping over at Urumqi of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

Boeing 757 passenger aircraft will be used on this route, said the spokesman.
