Saddam urges Iraqis to resist, vows victory
Iraqi President Saddam Hussein on Thursday called on Iraqis to resist after the beginning of a US war and pledged victory. Wearing his military uniform and black beret in an address broadcast on television, Saddam told the nation: "You will be victorious against your enemies." He also blasted the "cowardly aggression" against his nation hours after the United States launched war to force him from power. It was not clear if the address was live or pre-recorded. |
