Beijing to mark Olympic bid with run

Some 10,000 people will run in downtown Beijing to commemorate the second anniversary of the capital city's successful bid for the 2008 Olympics Games, organizers said on July 3.

The run, which will cover eight kilometres from Tian'anmen Square to the China Millenium Monument in western Beijing.

This will be the first mass activity in Beijing after the World Health Organization (WHO) lifted its travel advisory last week.
