Field training conditions improved in Xinjiang regiment ( 2003-07-28 17:30) (PLA Daily)
At noon of July 15, squad leader Wang Wenjun, together with his
comrades-in-arms, came back to the camps from the training site in the mountain
valley with sweat and dirt. Upon arrival, they went into the bathroom to have a
thorough shower.
A communication regiment of the Xinjiang Military Area Command was very
considerate. They've bought wind-proof, sand-proof, rain-proof field tents for
field training and set up hot-water bathrooms for the officers and men.
Every year, the regiment will spend almost eight months on field training.
The accommodation, dining and living conditions were very harsh in the training
site. Seeing this, the leaders of the regiment tried every means to improve the
condition. They downscaled the administration outlay and managed to raise funds
to buy wind-proof, sand-proof, rain-proof field tents suitable for the field
condition, obtain a big power supply equipment and 20-odd daily life necessities
such as mat, cold-proof cotton cushion for the soldiers.
In order to solve the bath problem, they bought water-supply installations
and showers, and then self-made water tank and organized technical personnel to
develop bathroom for field condition. Thus wherever the soldiers go, they can
set up a 200 sq. m bathroom, ensuring a hot-water bath every day. The care of
the Party committee of the regiment is an incentive for the officers and men to
have a better performance in the training. They have worked out a series of
communication support methods for field battle on plateau or in mountainous
areas within only 2 months.
