( 2003-08-05 14:10) (China Daily)

Forty police station directors have been suspended after receiving failing marks on a law enforcement exam, reports China News Service.

Guangdong is conducting a law enforcement training course for some 2,400 police station directors across the province.

Of the 1,000 officers to complete the course so far, 40 have failed the exam.

They must repeat the course and pass the exam before they will be allowed to resume their posts, said Liang Guoju, director of the Provincial Public Security Bureau.
