Zheng's house has been the daily focal point for fellow villagers ever since he captured a crocodile last week, reports Beijing Times.

Some neighbour children told Zheng, who lives in Daliushu Village, that a crocodile had been spotted in a nearby river.

Concerned about the threat the crocodile might pose to villagers' lives and safety, Zheng went to the river the next day and kept a lookout for the animal. As soon as the nearly metre-long crocodile appeared, he caught it in a net and placed it in a large tub in his home.

Zheng, who is trying to find a suitable home for the crocodile, said he could not afford to feed the creature much longer.
