A community in Pudong District has enlisted some foreign residents as mediators to help the neighbourhood committee solve disputes, according to Oriental Morning Post.

As many expats live in the community, the local neighbourhood committee staff sometimes encounter communication difficulties when conflicts arise. A German volunteer who works for a law office in Shanghai said private mediations could help settle disputes faster and more cheaply.
