New foreign ministry commissioner arrives in HK ( 2003-08-11 09:20) (China Daily)
Yang Wenchang, newly appointed commissioner of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), arrived in Hong Kong Sunday to take his post. Yang, aged 59 and graduated from Beijing Foreign Language Institute, is a native of east China's Shandong Province. He served as ambassador to Singapore between 1993 and 1995 and was appointed vice minister of foreign affairs in 1998.
