Entertainment-free zone around campuses ( 2003-08-13 13:31) (China Daily)
A 200-metre buffer zone around all schools and universities in Hubei Province
will soon become off limits to commercial recreation venues, reports Wuhan
Evening News.
As of September, Internet cafes, gaming rooms, karaoke studios, discos and
billiards rooms may not legally operate within 200 metres of school campuses,
according to the provincial government.
Such venues have long been vilified for wasting students' time and money, as
well as being breeding grounds for corruption and crime.
