A self-described tomboy from Oregon was crowned Misss Teen USA 2003 Tuesday
night.

Farrell | Tami Nichole Farrell of Phoenix, Oregon,
who said her proudest moment was hitting a game-winning home run while playing
on her town's formerly all-boy baseball team, defeated 50 other contestants.
The first runner-up was Alicia Selby, Miss Tennessee.
Farrell, 18, won a year of rent-free living in New York
City, a tiara valued at $17,500, and cash and other prizes.
She hopes to earn a college degree in liberal arts and pursue a career in
acting and modeling.
Entrants from Oregon also won the pageant in 1988 and 1990. No other state
has captured the title more than once.
