The Chinese government Saturday donated US$200,000 to Pakistan to support the
country's flood relief efforts.
This is the second donation made by China in the past two weeks. On Aug. 7,
the Chinese Red Cross made a donation of US$50,000 to Pakistani Red Crescent
Society for the relief work.
The money will be spent on foodstuff, tents, blankets and clothing to be
distributed in the flood-stricken areas in southern Pakistan.
Since late July, many districts in Sindh and Balochistan provinces have
experienced heavy rains and floods and suffered great casualties and loss of
properties. About 200 people have died and nearly one million people have become
homeless. The crops have also been affectedly badly.
