Man blackmails ex-wife ( 2003-08-25 11:22) (HK Edition)
with son as the bait A man who blackmailed his ex-wife twice by threatening
to sell their son was arrested Thursday, reports Beijing Morning Post.
When Kang divorced his wife, Li, last November, the two agreed that Li would
be their son's guardian. But Kang took his son back on December 23, saying he
had no money to live on and threatening to sell the boy if Li did not give him
60,000 yuan (US$7,200). Li paid the amount to get her son back.
After Kang pulled the same trick again and asked for 160,000 yuan
(US$19,000), Li called police.
