'Cold violence' more harmful to relations ( 2003-09-18 14:00) (China Daily) "Cold violence", in which one
or both married partners turn a cold shoulder to their spouse and refuse to
communicate, while causing no physical injury, can actually do more harm to a
couples' relationship and emotional well-being, according to experts.
Shao, who had been married for nearly 20 years and whose son entered
university last year, recently asked his wife for a divorce after years of such
discord, reports People's Daily.
The Hebei District People's Court in Tianjin found the couple had been living
apart for three years and only remained in their relationship for the sake of
their son.
