Mainland films to offer insights into city life
( 2003-09-26 21:40) (Xinhua) "Chinese Film Panorama 2003"
will present 11 recent films made by the filmmakers in the Chinese mainland in
Hong Kong, a government press release said Friday in Hong Kong.
The series will take place from Oct. 20 to 31 with a total of 31 screenings
at the Grand Theater of the Hong Kong Cultural Center, the Lecture Hall of the
Hong Kong Science Museum and the Cinema of the Hong Kong Film Archive.
Of them, three were the works by acclaimed directors Huo Jianqi, Feng
Xiaogang and Zhang Yuan, which offer rare insights into Chinese city life.
The program also includes a seminar, "Interaction between Mainland and Hong
Kong Cinema," on Oct. 21 at the Film Archive Cinema.
"Chinese Film Panorama 2003" is jointly presented by the Leisure and Cultural
Services Department of Hong Kong, Sil- Metropole Organization Ltd and Southern
Film Co. Ltd.
The series include Huo Jianqi's latest film "Life Show," Zhang Yuan's new
release, "Green Tea" and Feng Xiaogang's "A Sigh."
