Thirty-six foreign experts working in the province were awarded "West Lake Friendship" award by the provincial people's government of Zhejiang Province for their outstanding contributions to the economic and social development of the province on Thursday afternoon.

The 36 foreign experts come from nine countries of U.S., Japan, Germany, Britain, ROK, Canada, Italy, Austria and Australia.

It's the seventh time that the award has been granted since it was established in 1997.

So far, a total of 184 foreign experts have won the award.

According to Zhejiang Provincial People's Government, there are currently some 3,000 foreign experts working in Zhejiang each year.
