Arsenal striker Thierry Henry capitalised on a Carlo Cudicini howler to give his team a 2-1 win over Chelsea at Highbury and move the Gunners top of the Premiership.

Brazilian midfielder Edu gave Arsenal an early lead with the club's 700th Premiership goal, but Chelsea striker Hernan Crespo hit back with a 7th minute equaliser before goalkeeper Cudicini made a gaffe to gift Henry with his 74th minute winner.

Arsenal leapfrog Manchester United, who temporarily took the Premiership top after a 1-0 win over Leeds in the day's early kick-off, and lead the defending champions by one point.

United skipper Roy Keane headed home an 81st minute winner for the Red Devils at Elland Road, after Christiano Ronaldo and Paul Scholes had been denied by the woodwork.

Wolverhampton Wanderers clambered off the foot of the table for the first time this season after a 0-0 stalemate with Fulham at Loftus Road.

The Wanderers attackers and the Fulham strikeforce, which was missing top scorer Luis Boa Morte, fired round after round of blanks in a scoreless draw which only got going as a contest in the final 15 minutes.

Not so at the City of Manchester Stadium where Kevin Keegan's Manchester City romped to a 6-2 win over local rivals Bolton Wanderers.

Shaun Wright-Phillips scored two goals in the rout but his day ended on a sour note when he was sent-off for a foul on Simon Charlton.

Sylvain Distin, Claudio Reyna and Nicolas Anelka - who scored a brace - also got on the City score sheet. Kevin Nolan and Ivan Campo netted for Bolton.
